OmniBus to Deliver Advanced, Ready-to-Run IT Broadcasting Solutions on HP Servers
DENVER — July 29, 2008 — OmniBus Systems, the award-winning provider of comprehensive broadcast automation and content management solutions, today announced that it is working with HP to provide and support market-leading solutions for IT broadcasting. The joint solutions are based on OmniBus iTX production, master control and automation software and HP server hardware.
Under the HP Developer and Solution Partner Program (DSPP), both companies will collaborate on sales, marketing and support programs for the products. In addition, OmniBus will work with HP to design and deliver a complete, ready-to-run iTX system via HP Factory Express, the company's portfolio of customized and integrated factory solutions. OmniBus is also entering HP's hardware beta program.
"This agreement continues the excellent relationship we have enjoyed with HP," said Tim Mendoza, executive vice president, OmniBus Systems. "The superb performance and robust reliability of HP hardware meets the very exacting standards of the broadcasting industry, providing the ideal platform for OmniBus' breakthrough software solutions for television, IPTV and mobile TV applications."
OmniBus iTX solutions will be supplied on industry-leading HP BladeSystem c-Class servers and HP ProLiant servers, and will be readily scalable to customer requirements.
"By using proven, standards-based systems, broadcast companies can realize tangible business benefits of lower cost, less risk and more flexibility," said Stephen McKenna, vice president, Communications, Media and Entertainment, HP. "The tight integration of OmniBus iTX and HP hardware creates a compelling solution that can outstrip the capabilities of conventional systems and set new benchmarks for time to market and return on investment."
OmniBus iTX is the next-generation broadcasting software solution that makes the conventional automation, master control and playout chain obsolete. Combining all the functions of a conventional transmission chain into a single, integrated suite of software applications, iTX is flexible, open and feature-rich, and offers a significantly more configurable and responsive end-to-end solution for a wide range of operating environments. With market-beating support for standard- and high-definition offerings, and exceptional ability to integrate with third-party systems, iTX delivers the most powerful solution available while significantly reducing the investment required to launch and operate high-quality channels in broadcast, IPTV, mobile TV, disaster recovery and business continuity applications.
