OmniBus Enables Fast, Hands-On Logging With New Dual-Screen OPUS Sports & News Logging System
New Solution Provides Configurable Touch-Screen Functionality for Faster Logging of Live Sports Event
DENVER — Sept. 8, 2006— OmniBus Systems, the award-winning provider of comprehensive automation and content management solutions to the broadcast industry, today announced a new dual-screen version of the company's popular OPUS Sports & News Logging system. The dual-screen logging workstation enables fast and intuitive logging of live and recorded events via two LCD screens: a viewing screen and a touch-screen display that provides users with rapid touch-screen access to data, sports stats, and clips.
"The hands-on functionality and complete integration of monitoring and logging tools within a single, compact interface set the dual-screen OPUS Sports & News Logging system apart from the competition," said OmniBus Vice President of Technology John Wadle. "The system leverages the power and configuration flexibility of our G3 desktop to a greater degree than ever before. It's fully customizable to provide intuitive interfaces optimized for efficient logging of specific sports events, and the touch-screen panel allows for fast logging, which is critical in covering of fast-paced competition."
Like the preceding single-screen version, the dual-screen OmniBus OPUS News & Sports Logging system provides all the tools necessary for critical highlights logging, even as a story or match unfolds. It allows for rapid event logging with just one touch and features robust capabilities for recalling, sorting, and accessing logged information. This fast recall functionality enables broadcasters to produce live sports and breaking news with efficiency and accuracy. The easy capture of key frames allows users to build storyboards rapidly. Reviewing and filtering logged events also allows the user to focus on highlights and quickly create shot lists for review and export to production editors for finishing.
This newest logging application from OmniBus Systems runs on a standard Windows® XP workstation and can be used on any surface capable of accommodating a desktop computer. The system is delivered with a standard sports logging template, and OmniBus Systems offers on-site configuration during installation. With additional training, customers can use off-the-shelf OPUS G3 software to customize the logging system's task-configurable user interfaces for specific sports coverage.
The OPUS News & Sports Logging System is part of OmniBus' OPUS Content Management and Workflow Suite and is fully integrated with OmniBus Colossus transmission automation, OmniBus iTX, and HeadLine news suites, as well as with other automation and newsroom systems.
