OmniBus Appoints Laurie Mascott - Joins as Executive Vice President, Sales, ROW
LONDON — March 27, 2007 — OmniBus Systems, the award-winning provider of comprehensive broadcast automation and content management solutions, today announced the appointment of Laurie Mascott as executive vice president for ROW sales. Mascott joins OmniBus from Datanomic, where he was CEO. In addition to taking on this sales role, he will drive forward the development of distribution partnerships for OmniBus’ IT-based products, including the iTX broadcast master control and playout system.
“I’m very excited to be joining OmniBus at a time when the company is poised to be the catalyst for a significant change in the industry,” said Mascott. “My background in heading up companies in IT-based applications means I’ve seen the gains that have been achieved in many industries by running business-critical applications on standard platforms with high-quality specialist software. Now, OmniBus is delivering these same benefits to an area of the broadcast industry that has been one of the last to convert from expensive and complex proprietary hardware.”
Mascott has played a number of senior roles in the enterprise software market during his 18-year career, including senior vice president and general manager EMEA at webMethods (NASDAQ: WEBM) and EMEA vice president for Systems Union Group plc, an international ERP vendor, where he was responsible for operations in all the primary European countries.
“Laurie brings a great deal of experience to this post, as well as a network of contacts in international markets,” said Mike Oldham, CEO, OmniBus Systems. “His proven ability to grow IT businesses will be exceptionally valuable in furthering our strategy of developing powerful and robust products on standard platforms.”
