OmniBus Systems Reports Record Revenues and Profits for First Half of 2007
Sales of Ground-Breaking iTX Software-Based Production and Transmission System Fuel Growth
DENVER — Sept. 6, 2007 — OmniBus Systems, the award-winning provider of comprehensive video automation and content management solutions to the broadcast industry, today reported a dramatic increase in revenue and profitability for the first half of 2007, with contracted back orders for the period at the highest level in the company's history.
With significant growth in revenue over the same period last year and contracted back orders showing a 100 percent increase over those of June 2006, OmniBus can announce record levels of revenue and profitability for the first six months of 2007.
This success is in part due to a number of multi-million pound deals with blue chip broadcast companies in North America and Europe which closed in the last 12 months; these deals, combined with exponential growth in iTX orders over the same period last year, have resulted in record sales orders.
"The success we are having now is based on the growth of our existing multi-channel playout customers — especially those adding high definition channels — and the market acceptance of our new iTX and OPUS content management product suites," said Mike Oldham, CEO OmniBus Systems. "Software solutions developed with our innovative technology are exactly what digital television operations need for flexible and scalable automation and video content management. That, combined with our expanded international sales and support infrastructure and partnerships with leading IT companies such as Microsoft, HP, Sun and Isilon, has positioned us as the company that can help broadcasters, IPTV and mobile video distributors alike transition to efficient and cost-effective automated digital operations."
The unprecedented year began strongly with a substantial order from the Norwegian National Broadcaster (NRK) to implement the OmniBus OPUS content management solution across its 13 regional broadcasting centers, delivering a world-class multi-domain facility. OPUS is a suite of content management and workflow components that link multiple vendor systems with an integrated, efficient workflow, and this complex and powerful implementation of the OPUS solution provides streamlined integration of the many new and existing technologies forming part of NRK's system.
Further success followed as the release of v.1.1 of the iTX product suite created significant customer demand by addressing the industry's need for modular products that are scalable, flexible and capable of reducing energy consumption and overall running costs significantly. Major sales in Europe, Asia and the United States will be announced in the coming months as new customers go on air.
"The early success of iTX automation and OPUS video content management has been with some of the world's leading large broadcasters, which is the traditional target market for OmniBus," Oldham said. "Broadcasters are now moving away from proprietary hardware-based systems to open, standards-based software solutions because they are cost-effective and flexible products based on lower cost and more reliable IT platforms delivering the broadcast-quality performance the industry demands. These products are going to change the industry landscape by offering powerful video automation and content management systems to all sizes and types of traditional and non-traditional broadcasters. We are leading this industry revolution, making it a very exciting time for OmniBus."
iTX is a revolutionary, next-generation software-based broadcast production and transmission solution that uses just standard IT hardware and advanced software technology. This powerful system builds on OmniBus Systems' high-end automation expertise to deliver automation, ingest, editing and content management and act as a video server, master controller, graphics device and logo inserter.
