OmniBus Adds Support for Pinnacle Files to iTX

DENVER — June 3, 2008 — OmniBus Systems, the award-winning provider of comprehensive broadcast automation and content management solutions, today announced that native support for the Pinnacle file format has been added to its iTX production and automation system.

The optional plug-in for iTX adds native handling capability for Pinnacle files within the iTX playout engine, allowing customers with large archives of content on Pinnacle servers to continue to leverage their assets if they are in a replacement cycle for their video servers.

"Being a multi-format system, iTX supports a wide variety of file formats and protocols," said Ian Fletcher, CTO OmniBus Systems. "It's important for our customers — wherever they are in their replacement cycle — to be able to integrate iTX easily with existing installations, and with the addition of Pinnacle support, we are able to offer a powerful solution to a large group of broadcasters seeking a way to preserve the value of their assets into the future."

iTX is a revolutionary, next-generation software-based production and transmission solution that uses advanced software technology running on industry-standard IT server hardware. This powerful, groundbreaking system builds on OmniBus Systems' high-end automation expertise to deliver an enterprise-class solution that offers automation, ingest, editing and sophisticated content management functionality via a single integrated suite of software applications that act as a video server, master controller, graphics device and logo inserter.
