New Features Strengthen OmniBus iTX Offering for Call-Letter Station Groups
DENVER— April 12, 2010 — OmniBus Systems, the award-winning provider of comprehensive broadcast automation, content management and workflow solutions, has enhanced OmniBus iTX with new features that increase the automation and transmission platform's appeal to call-letter station groups.
Already selected as the next-generation platform by two major station groups, OmniBus iTX is enabling the move toward an efficient and versatile centralcasting model, operating in a variety of roles for over-the-air broadcasting, production and streaming, and readily adapting to any configuration of acquisition, production, playout and control across a station group.
New features introduced to streamline station group operations include Roll-Under/Join-in-Progress, Digital EAS Integration, Regional Breakaway, Live Newsbreak and integrated Nielsen Digital Watermarking. Adapting readily to the aggregation of multiple central sites into one location or the distribution of a central site's workload across more than one location, iTX also makes it easy and cost effective for station groups with a centralized broadcast model to protect against long-term outages of the central site or any local site. With its streamlined capability for delivery of streams for Web or mobile applications in parallel with broadcast output, iTX offers station group owners the ability to develop new services quickly in response to market conditions, while maintaining a quality of crafted output that matches and exceeds the best obtainable with a conventional transmission infrastructure.
"The flexibility of iTX and its ability to integrate with legacy systems during a gradual transition to new infrastructure and operating models has always appealed strongly to station groups," said Tim Mendoza, executive vice president, OmniBus Systems. "We've been working closely with our call-letter station customers to fine-tune the iTX feature set for the particular requirements of station group operation. By massively reducing the cost and complexity of building, maintaining and scaling an infrastructure, iTX plays a big part in helping station groups achieve the transition to new and more agile ways of doing business."
OmniBus iTX is the next-generation solution that makes the conventional broadcast automation, master control and playout chain obsolete. Combining and exceeding all the functions of a conventional chain in a single, integrated suite of software applications, iTX is flexible, open and feature rich, and offers a significantly more configurable and responsive end-to-end solution for a wide range of operating environments. With market-beating support for SD and HD formats, and exceptional ability to integrate with third-party systems, iTX delivers the most powerful solution available while significantly reducing the investment required to launch and operate high-quality channels in broadcast, IPTV, mobile TV, disaster recovery and business continuity applications.
