Intuitive Timeline Monitoring
Logos, overlays, captions and digital data are presented on a graphical timeline that provides a clear picture of what's happening and when. Because the system operates in multiple time-zone modes, users can manage and manipulate schedules in local time and still control channels in real time.
Fast and Simple Schedule Management
An intuitive grid shows schedules imported from third-party traffic systems or built offline within Colossus. Users can search and replace items within the schedule or use the system’s drag-and-drop functionality to move clips, live events, segment markers and sub-channel breakaway markers around the schedules. |
Event Building and Transitions
Desktop users can view and modify general clip metadata, video effects, secondary events and logos, associated transition effects (using fader bars), auxiliary data, program delivery control (PDC) or V-Chip data, aspect ratio definition and audio mapping. Colossus also allows users to share mixers and switchers dynamically across channels.
Managing Live Events
Events recorded live as they occur within the playout schedule can be stored for later use. Colossus operators can cue and roll events where regularly scheduled programming would be joined when news conferences, a time block of programming, or remote live events overrun. If an on-air item is interrupted for a news flash, Colossus automatically updates the remainder of the schedule and re-cues the next item.
Cache Management
Cache servers stay as full as possible at all times with automatic transfer and purging of media and metadata based upon the schedule. Users can also alter the cache contents, track missing material and delete media manually if required. |
