iTX Features

Transforming the Transmission Model
The revolutionary iTX software-based production and transmission solution builds on OmniBus Systems’ 15 years of designing high-end automation products. Using only standard IT hardware and advanced software technology, this powerful end-to-end solution offers an extremely cost-effective playout solution for markets ranging from small or medium-sized transmission facilities through to disaster recovery sites, emerging markets and IPTV.

Flexibility in Format and Function
iTX is format-independent and bit-rate-agnostic, so operators can mix DV25, MPEG-1, -2 and -4 and Windows Media 9 files. The software accepts media of any resolution and scales it to the correct output format, allowing SD and HD content to be mixed within a single playlist. iTX offers all the master control transitions needed to produce a sophisticated output and gives users the ability to insert logos, stills, voiceovers, music clips and 2-D DVE moves for squeeze-and-tease effects. Live instant playback capability allows users make news, sports and entertainment programs more dynamic.

Cost-Effective Channel Support
Master control functionality, a fully integrated character generator, subtitling capability, VBI insertion and interfacing to external systems enable single- and multi-channel broadcasters to manage the entire origination and content management process from within iTX. Broadcasters can use the system as a backup transmission solution to support existing operations or implement the system to manage new low-cost channels and new streams at a much lower investment level.

Media Ingest
iTX gives broadcasters a choice of ingest workflows including direct ingest to a content server, manual encoding from the desktop, delivery as a digital file from an existing broadcast server or drag-and-drop transfer from an NLE.

The OmniBus OPUS Feed Manager enables flexible handling of scheduled and real-time feeds. iTX accepts a range of media formats, including wmv, .avi, .mpg, .wav, .jpeg, .bmp, .tiff, .png, animated .gif, mp3 and wma and can encode from tape, satellite feed or live input – in real time – to DV AVI or MPEG-2, either SD or HD. Incoming media can be viewed while it is being ingested and a simple clip management desktop control allows for clip trimming and the addition of metadata before items are saved to the database. Asset Management
The standard iTX system features content management capabilities including database searches, clip creation, deletion and renaming, metadata storage and tracking of physical locations of media. Additional information, such as in/out points, audio level, video transition or relationship to a parent file also can be recorded or adjusted. Click to learn more.

Segment Production
The iTX Edit timeline-based editing package features an intuitive interface that allows the user to produce program sequences and segments quickly and easily. Program segments can be authored with audio-level mixing, stills, voiceover and master control effects and be played directly to air without the need for rendering.
Transmission Control
iTX playout leverages state-of-the art automation and intuitive drag-and-drop functionality to simplify transmission of one or multiple channels under the control of just one operator. Playout schedules can be created and edited on this same screen. Plug-ins integrated into the automation user interface allow the same operator to add CGs, graphics and unlimited logos, as well as vision effects, voiceovers, live events and audio effects.
