As an IP-based system, iTX NEWS is ideally suited to a file-based workflow; content can be acquired from a wide variety of sources – live ingest, digital news delivery services, user-generated material, AVID, Final Cut Pro, Quantel etc. – and any mixture of formats can be combined in the same playlist, with the iTX playout engine performing the necessary conversions for the intended output format.
The OmniBus OPUS logging tools included within iTX NEWS offer quick and easy marking and logging of events either in the recorded content or on live video feeds, with annotation based on user-defined metadata schemas. The custom metadata layers can be used to indicate specific areas of interest to speed up the content selection process. The Desktop content viewer used for OPUS.Logging can display live feeds, full-resolution recorded clips or low-resolution proxy clips to support video logging at multiple points in the content workflow.
